Modify the Settings

The Android operating system doesn’t allow you to download any apps outside of Play Store by default. After all, why would Google want that option? Since all other methods are not as reliable, you should venture beyond the Play Store with care.

Before you start sideloading apps, you have to modify the system settings on your Android device. There are a few different methods, depending on your Android version. We’ll review the methods for various versions below.

Method 1: Install from Unknown Sources in Android 10

1. Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap on the Settings cog.
2. Scroll down and tap on ‘Biometrics and Security.’
3. Tap on ‘Install Unknown Apps.’
4. Tap on the application that you’ll use to download the files.
5. Tap the toggle switch next to ‘Allow from this source.’

Method 2: Install from Unknown Sources in Android 8.0 Oreo

1. Go to the “Settings” in your app menu.
2. Find and select the “Apps & notifications” menu.
3. Tap “Advanced.”
4. Select “Special app access.”
5. Tap “Install unknown apps.”
6. Choose the internet browser that you will use for the third-party stores.
7. Turn on “Allow from this source.”

The above steps enable your browser to get apps from sources other than Google Play. Android 8 controls the installation permissions through individual apps rather than all of them at once, so you need to allow the browser to perform installations.

Method 3: Install from Unknown Sources in Android 7.0 Nougat, 6.0 Marshmallow, or Older

With older Android versions (7.0 Nougat or lower), the system doesn’t split the sources. Instead, you have to trigger an option for downloading files from all available sources.

1. Go to “Settings” from the menu.
2. Tap “Security.”
3. Turn on “Unknown Sources.”

Using the above steps, you will have access to any APKs you want to install, as long as they are compatible with your device. This option can put your device at risk since it allows all unknown sources to store files rather than on an app-by-app basis. If your smartphone is not protected enough, it could get infected.

NOTE: You CAN disable unknown sources after the third-party installation is complete. However, updates for the app may require the option to be enabled again.

The biggest mainstream competitor to APKMirror is arguably APKPure. The two sites launched around the same time. Like APKMirror, the site abides by rigorous security practices to make sure all the APKs you download are safe and virus-free.

So how is APKPure safe? The site verifies the legitimacy of all apps before publishing by using SHA1 to ensure the certificate is safe. Cryptographic signatures for new versions of apps must match previously published versions, and entirely new apps are matched against other software from the same developer.

APK Downloader – это специальное расширение для браузеров Chrome и Mozilla Firefox, с помощью которого можно скачивать из Play Market (Магазин приложений для Android) APK-файлы.

Подготовить этот инструмент и начать работать с ним немного сложнее, чем с обычным браузерным расширением. Прежде всего, необходимо настроить само приложение, затем отредактировать свойства ярлыка Chrome. Проделать все необходимые манипуляции не слишком сложно, однако, подробная инструкция все же не помещает.

В этой статье мы расскажем о том, как установить APK Downloader на компьютер, а скачать его вы можете на .

1. Перейдите в папку с загруженным архивом и распакуйте его содержимое в отдельную папку на жестком диске.

В дальнейшем эту папку нельзя изменять, редактировать, переименовывать и удалять, в противном случае APK Downloader исчезнет с вашего браузера и компьютера.

1. Запустите Chrome и откройте «Настройки». Далее перейдите в раздел «Расширения». Перед вами появится список расширений, установленных в вашем браузере.

Вверху необходимо поставить галочку напротив пункта «Режим разработчика».

Теперь введите Android ID. Чтобы узнать его на смартфоне, который, конечно же, работает под управлением Андроид, в окне номеронабирателя введите следующее значение: *#*#8255#*#*. В появившемся окне найдите «Device ID…» — 16 цифр, которые следуют после двоеточия, это и есть ID вашего телефона. Введите их в соответствующее поле.

Примечание: на телефоне должен быть запущен Talk.

Теперь нажмите Login, затем «Save Settings» и «ОК».

Поздравляем, вы настроили APK Downloader, идем дальше.

Создание специального ярлыка Chrome для корректной работы с APK Downloader

1. Скопируйте ярлык браузера на рабочий стол. Для удобства можете его как-нибудь переименовать.
